It’s a curvy road to Wrestlemania. The Smackdown division has been one of the more competitive in WWE over the last few months with a series of big feuds and some better matches than would be expected. Naomi won the Smackdown Women’s Title back at “Elimination Chamber 2017” but something happened during that match.

This week on “Smackdown Live”, Naomi announced that due to an injury suffered at “Elimination Chamber 2017”, she would be forced to vacate the title. Naomi said that she’s probably out of “Wrestlemania XXXIII” as well but she’ll be back to win the title that someone is borrowing. The title was put up for grabs in a match between Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch with Bliss cheating to become a two time champion.

Opinion: This might be the best thing that could happen to the title. I’m not sure why WWE thinks Naomi was an interesting choice for the title as she’s really just athletic without having much to back it up. Just being from Orlando isn’t enough of a reason to give her the title coming into the big show but for some reason that’s what WWE seemed to be thinking. At least that’s out of the way though and hopefully she’s back soon.
