The New Day is scheduled to debut on SmackDown soon, but it sounds like WWE officials want to hold the group’s appearance back until Kofi Kingston has recovered from his planned surgery. It seems Big E has some big plans for what to do with that downtime.
It looks like the big man is planning to officiate weddings. Yes, for real. He mentioned the decision on social media earlier this week, and WWE.com offered up a big interview with him giving some details about why.
“I’m ready to work. I don’t do well with idle time. My head was spinning, thinking ‘What am I going to do with all these days off?’ I don’t really want to take a vacation. I’m bored just being in the house. I think I was talking about it in the locker room, [and] I actually have to give all credit to Enzo Amore. He came up with this idea. As soon as I heard it, I thought ‘This is kind of ridiculous, but kind of phenomenal, as well.’ So, I gave it some thought, ran it by a couple of my friends, got their feedback. I couldn’t really think of a reason not to do it and got even more excited about the prospect.”
As for the pesky business of making things official, it seems Big E already has it covered. “I just got ordained online. It’s a surprisingly easy process. You just put some information in and they send you a certificate. That’s that. It’s official. We made sure of that.”
If you’re interested in having a pro wrestler officiate a wedding for you, here’s his initial Twitter post.
I may be officiating weddings in LA April 20-22. Hit me if you're weird. [email protected]. I'm actually not joking. For once.

Let me tell you, if I wasn’t already married…
