Hulk Hogan vs. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is Being Discussed for WrestleMania XXX

A new report from PWInsider.com claims that Hulk Hogan vs. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper is being discussed for WrestleMania XXX. The report states that Hogan is close to signing a WWE deal for WrestleMania XXX, and that the company may try and have the Hulkster work with Piper at the event.

WWE officials have reportedly talked about bringing Piper in for WrestleMania XXX, and want him to do something with Hogan. The notion here is that the two working together at the thirtieth anniversary of the “showcase of the immortals” would serve as an homage to first WrestleMania the company ever produced. Hogan and Piper faced off against each other at the first WrestleMania ever in a tag team match, where their partners were Mr. T and Paul Ordorff respectively.

As we perviously reported, original plans for Hogan to work at WrestleMania included tagging up with John Cena at the event to face a heel team of some sort, possibly even The Real Americans. The PWInsider report claims that some of the ideas for Piper and Hogan being discussed are currently Cena and Hogan vs. Piper and another heel, Hogan vs. Piper in a singles match, or Hogan and Piper actually teaming together, to face The Real Americans.

Piper is scheduled to appear on “RAW: Old School” on Jan. 6, and some believe the seeds to a match for him at WrestleMania XXX may be planted there. Whether Hogan will be involved with that broadcast or not has not been confirmed, but many believe that if he does appear on “RAW: Old School,” it would be as a surprise appearance and he would not be advertised.
