WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross gives his brutally honest opinion about the current WWE product in a new blog post that was published on Dec. 31, 2013. In this blog, Ross discusses who he believes could win the 2014 Royal Rumble Match, his thoughts on Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatt Family on “RAW,” how useless the “Bad News Barrett” segments are currently, and more.

Ross begins to discuss his opinions on the current WWE product by commenting on the Intercontinental Championship bout that was held during the Dec. 30 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Ross says,

“There was no build up on Raw for the IC Title match which was disappointing, the build up and not the match. It was presented as just another match on a 180 minute TV show. If Big E is in WWE’s plans, and I feel that he is, then this match should have had more lead time and sizzle. Plus, it didn’t make the IC title feel special. “

Ross continues with opinions on Fandango’s valet, Summer Rae,

“Summer Rae is looking more and more like a major player every week. She is a good athlete and judging from her work in the ring that I saw in NXT, Summer Rae can be special.”

Ross follows up with a blunt thought in regards to Wade Barrett’s new character, saying,

“Not sure where this Bad News Barrett thing is headed.”

The Oklahoma native then goes on to comment on the return of Brock Lesnar, saying that he could even see Lesnar or the soon-to-return Batista win the 2014 Royal Rumble Match. Ross says,

“Good to see Heyman and Lesnar back on RAW although I doubt that we see them together that much between now and WM30. I hope that I’m wrong on that one. Lesnar has and will sell PPV’s if he is exposed strategically on Monday Night Raw. What is or isn’t strategic is up for debate.

Lesnar just jumped to the top of my short list of favorites to win the Royal Rumble…..or Batista. Will the WrestleMania 30 Main Event be Orton vs. Lesnar? Or Orton vs. Batista? Or none of the above? Hmm.”

Ross then shares his thoughts on Daniel Bryan and his apparent surrendering to the Wyatt Family on “RAW,” saying,

“Daniel Bryan is a genuine work horse but I still don’t know exactly what I saw as he left the arena Monday night with the Wyatt Family.

Will Bryan now become a pro wrestling ‘villain’ within the Wyatt faction or will Bryan continue to elicit cheers because the fans love chanting “Yes!”?

Are the Wyatt’s an antagonist entity or are they simply, bizarrely cool? What heinous acts have the Wyatt’s perpetrated lately to make them disliked? Or does it matter? Just asking…

One would assume that Friday Night Smackdown will have a further explanation of the relationship between the Wyatt’s and Daniel Bryan. The Wyatt/Bryan relationship is so unique that it might just work. Stay tuned.
