CM Punk Granted a Restraining Order Against His Mother

TMZ.com is reporting that former WWE Champion CM Punk has been granted a restraining order against his mother. Punk claims that he needs the protective order because his mother “constantly hits him up for money and then threatens to kill herself if he doesn’t come through.”

Punk, real name Phillip Brooks, claims in the legal documents filed in Illinois that he has made an attempt to break off the relationship he has with his mother for more than a year, “due to repeated financial demands and years of abusive, harassing and threatening behavior.” In the report, Punk says that he has repeatedly tried to help his mother, who Punk declares suffers from bipolar disorder. Brooks discloses that he has given his mom something in the realm of $100,000+, but that her “abusive/threatening behavior” escalated quickly once he cut her off.

TMZ claims that Punk’s mother sent him emails that read, “You don’t give a s**t about us. You just care about your money and money hungry/fame hungry friends. You would sell us for a nickel.” Punk also says his mother has threatened to release potentially embarrassing information about her son’s past, such as arrests when he was in high school. Brooks explains his mother’s threatening behavior further, saying that “his mother has threatened to commit suicide on at least 4 occasions in 2012.” Punk says, “I wish for the harassment to stop and am requesting the assistance of the court in this regards.”
