A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some backstage news on CM Punk possibly appearing on the March 10 “Monday Night Raw.” While everything regarding Punk’s current WWE status is mere speculation, Dave Meltzer discusses the possibilities of Punk appearing on the March 10 program in Memphis.

Meltzer asks if the WWE brass, more specifically Vince McMahon, wanted everyone to expect Punk to appear on “RAW” in his hometown of Chicago, only to not bring him out. This would allow the WWE Universe to believe that he is “really gone,” before the company re-establishes Punk as an on-screen talent going into WrestleMania XXX.

Meltzer also claims there are people in the company, who’ve clearly been left out of the loop during this situation as well, are wondering if Punk will appear on “RAW” in Memphis now that the majority of the fans have “accepted that Punk is gone.” Part of this assumption is due to the belief that Vince McMahon is a “master manipulator,” while the other part is because this situation is happening in the professional wrestling business and not being addressed out-right. Everything in wrestling is expected to be a work, “especially when something garners this level of interest.”

It’s believed by some that McMahon is too smart to continue pushing for the previously planned Batista vs. Randy Orton title match at WrestleMania XXX, when the crowd has obviously shown hostile interest towards it. These select few also believe that McMahon possibly used a few of his “Jedi mind tricks” to convince Punk to come back and work WrestleMania.

While most believed that March 3 would prove that Punk is either still with the company or not, there are still four weeks of WWE programming before WrestleMania XXX. During the March 3 show, support for CM Punk was encouraged by the company, while they understood that keeping him off camera would make most people believe that he is really gone. This is why some are still questioning the situation, and wondering if Punk will appear on WWE TV next week.

PWInsider.com previously reported that Punk is not coming back and that he may be done with wrestling all together at this time, but as of March 5 only one thing is for certain. The only people that truly know what is going on with CM Punk and World Wrestling Entertainment are CM Punk and Vince McMahon.
