As seen on the latest edition of “Monday Night Raw” on March 3 in Chicago, Ill., the hometown of CM Punk, Paul Heyman opened the show. Heyman came out to CM Punk’s theme song, “Cult of Personality,” leading to a chorus of boos from the Chicago faithful. During his worked-shoot, Heyman placed the blame on the fans for CM Punk not being there, blurring the lines between kayfabe and reality. F4WOnline now has more details on Heyman’s promo to open “Monday Night Raw.”

The website is reporting that Heyman changed his promo in some manners from what was originally planned. Dave Meltzer, who reported that CM Punk was going to be on “Monday Night Raw,” recently spoke about the promo on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer stated that it wasn’t like Heyman “went into business for himself,” but what Heyman told the raucous fans in Chicago was different from the original plans.

As we previously reported today, March 4, CM Punk was never discussed to appear on the “Monday Night Raw” from his hometown. If this indeed were the case, it likely signifies that Punk will not be returning to WWE anytime soon and will not re-sign when his contract expires in July.
