It had been previously reported that one of the cities that WWE has been considering for a future WrestleMania is London, England. But how realistic is this possibility?

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H said the following:

“The time zones are the big kicker. We have to go where the most people can watch. I always hear about Wembley (1992 SummerSlam). I always hear it was such a massive success. It was not. From a business standpoint, it was not. That’s why we didn’t come back and that’s why we’re still trying to figure it out. But when the time is right, absolutely.”

The report would continue to say that the reason that SummerSlam 1992 didn’t do well on pay-per-view was because it was the company’s first major PPV without Hulk Hogan. Hogan was the king of pay-per-view until the late 1990s, when other superstars began to emerge.

The NXT UK brand has been making huge strides there recently; you can see a clip from a recent title match below:

Editor’s Opinion:

I see both sides of the argument here. In 2018, the company has done shows at odd times, such as the Greatest Royal Rumble and the Super Show-Down, due to the fact that they are in another parts of the world. However, WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year, and perhaps WWE doesn’t want to air it at 10 AM on a Sunday morning in the United States. We’ll see what happens!
