Earlier this week, it was reported by RingSideNews that Ronda Rousey was responsible for her promo against The Bella Twins. The WWE Universe was pleased with the work on the microphone because it was a major improvement for Ronda. Fortunately, WWE fans can anticipate similar promo work from Rousey moving forward for one reason.

Recently, it was reported that Paul Heyman has been working with several WWE talents behind the scenes for Monday Night Raw. According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer, it’s true that Rousey wrote most of the promo on Raw. However, Heyman was responsible for working out the kinks and adding things that improved the segment.

Apparently, Rousey feels comfortable working with Paul Heyman over other agents in the back because of his knowledge of her character and career. For her promo, Heyman was responsible for beefing up her lines, including the “John Cena bedroom” insult. The promo was delivered in Ronda’s own words, but Heyman told her what buttons to push.

WWE officials wanted Ronda to use her experiences about attractive women using their looks in MMA and sports entertainment. This has been a consistent criticism of Brie and Nikki Bella for years so it was an appropriate place to air her feelings. That’s why Ronda delivered the promo with a newfound passion because it was more genuine to her life.

Like everything else she does at this stage of her wrestling career, Rousey’s promo was rough around the edges. However, there’s a clear improvement and passion that should make things easier for her with the WWE Universe. The backstage dynamic with Ronda and Heyman is expected to continue. There’ll be more opportunities for better promos.

Do you think Ronda Rousey has improved in the ring and on the microphone?
