The boss vs. The muscle. Ever since Cody became the inaugural TNT Champion at AEW’s recent “Double or Nothing” event, he said that he would be a fighting champion and would be defending the title on a regular basis. On last night’s episode of Dynamite, that statement held further truth.

In the closing moments of the show, it was announced that the champion will be defending his title at the upcoming 2020 Fyter Fest event against Jake Hagar. You can see a clip of that below:

From AllEliteWrestling.com:

Jake Hager walked out on the ramp and confronted “The American Nightmare.” He approached Cody but then put his hands on Arn Anderson. Cody tried to defend Anderson, but Hager dropped an exhausted Cody.

Private Party and Matt Hardy came to assist Cody. The Inner Circle then joined the fight and all hell broke loose!

“Jake, I think I know what you’re asking. You want a TNT title match at Fyter Fest? You got it!” said Cody.

Editor’s Note:

So we’re getting Stardust vs. Jack Swagger at the company’s next big pay-per-view event. Woohoo.
