“Smackdown Live” General Manager Daniel Bryan was the guest of Michael Cole on his weekly interview for WWE.com. They discuss a number of topics, including Brock Lesnar’s actions at “SummerSlam,” Finn Bálor’s Injury, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and much more.

Below are a few highlights from the interview:

On Brock Lesnar giving the F5 to Shane McMahon at “SummerSlam:”

“Shane went out there, and anytime you do, you have to expect anything. I wished I was cleared, because he would have loved to have went out there. My dream match has always been against Brock Lesnar. One of the things that’s always appealed to me about the fans is that I’ve always been an underdog, and what bigger underdog match is Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan? It’s like David vs. Goliath. He’s never fought someone like me. I was working on this new style, before they told me I couldn’t wrestle anymore, that’s really unlike anything else, just in the way that I move. And I don’t think that Brock would really know how to handle it.”

On Finn Balor having to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship:

“The most tragic part, to me, is that it happened as soon as he (Bálor) gets up here (the main roster). One of the things that upsets me about the whole situation, is that Finn Balor should have been on the main roster a year and a half ago. I understand that NXT is a very important of our programming, and our network, but he was a superstar when we signed him. And some people have to adjust to the WWE style, but for a guy like Bálor, it wouldn’t have taken more than six months. He’s in the prime of his career, and just turned 35 years old the day he debuted on “RAW.” He should have been here a year and a half ago.”

On Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura:

“Samoa Joe should already be here. Shinsuke Nakamura should already be here. Those are guys in their primes, and they’re down in NXT, but they should be up here, either on “Smackdown Live,” or on “RAW.” The longer they wait, the more bumps they take, the more bruises they get, and the more susceptible they are to injury. Everybody knows that there’s a finite amount of hits that you can take in your career. You don’t know what that number is. And the more times you take those hits down on NXT, the less hits you’re going to be able to take when you’re here.”

They also discuss how Bryan has done as the “Smackdown Live” GM, The Cruiserweight Division, the Cruiserweight Classic and his role as a commentator, “Total Bellas,” and a documentary about how Daniel Bryan wrestled a bear.
