John Cena is one of the most polarizing figures in the history of WWE, and his matches at WrestleMania are always one of the highlights of the card. But what is in store this year for the leader of the CeNation?
According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is for John Cena to face Lars Sullivan at WrestleMania 35.
This angle will begin at the Royal Rumble, should it take place. Cena recently entered himself into the Rumble match, which you can see below:
The report states that Sullivan was scheduled to debut on the main roster on the January 7 Raw taping in Orlando. However, he either didn’t show up at the arena, or did and left the building, which was believed to be due to an anxiety attack.
Furthermore, he was then scheduled for a dark match at the January 8 Smackdown Live tapings in Jacksonville, but he apparently flew back home to Colorado.
WWE is being a lot more understanding of mental health issues now, due to the recent experiences with Mauro Ranallo. The company apparently talked with him and smoothed things out.
Editor’s Opinion:
Interesting. With the amount of time and energy that they have put into the vignettes for Sullivan, having him make his WrestleMania debut against one of the biggest names in the history of WWE makes sense. Hopefully this will work out for all parties involved.
