All streaks are made to be broken.

Earlier today on Twitter, Asuka noted that she has officially become the longest undefeated champion in WWE/WCW history with a streak:

Goldberg acknowledged the accomplishment with a tweet of his own:

She passes Goldberg’s record of 173-0 during his initial run in WCW, from 1997-1998. He eventually lost the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to Kevin Nash at “Starrcade” 1998, when Scott Hall attacked him with a stun gun when the referee’s back was turned.

Asuka has been the NXT Women’s Champion since “NXT Takeover: Dallas” on April 1, 2016. There, she defeated then champion, Bayley, via submission to capture the title.

Her last victory was at the recent “NXT Takeover: Chicago” pay-per-view, where she defeated Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross in a triple threat match.

Editor’s Note:

Asuka has been one of my favorite NXT performers since I saw her debut with the company in 2015. Many people have said that she needs to come up to the main roster, but she is doing such good work in NXT right now, that I feel she should stay there and continue to rack up wins and up the streak! Congratulations on this historic achievement!
