And then there were six. We’re coming up on June and that means Money in the Bank season is upon us. They’re starting fast too as six entrants (seemingly the whole field, though that could always change) have already been announced. Originally it was announced as five but a sixth was added after a quick protest.

Tonight on “Smackdown Live”, Commissioner Shane McMahon announced that AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura will be involved in the match. Kevin Owens wasn’t happy with being left out and complained, earning himself the sixth spot in the match.

Opinion: I’m very glad they’re keeping it at six (though they’ve started there and expanded it all the way to ten before so anything is possible) as there’s just not enough depth to a split roster to have them do a huge ladder match and have an interesting card underneath. Let these guys do their thing and then let the rest of the roster fill in the show. They barely managed “Backlash 2017” without a ton of filler and putting an even bigger chunk into one match isn’t going to help things.
