It seems like ex-Lucha Underground star Pentagon Jr. can’t catch a break right now. He just left AAA, who is also owned by Lucha Underground’s parent company Lucha Libre FMV. Obviously the parent company owns the rights to his former name, so he will have to make a departure from it, right?

Apparently not, as it looks like Lucha Libre FMV is not fighting a fair fight against the wrestler. One week after Pentagon Jr. would now go by the name Penta OM, Lucha Libre FMV filed for a trademark of his new name, thereby blocking his ability to use it. This trademark was filed in both the US and Mexico, thus making it difficult for him to wrestle anywhere inside North America.

With it being a recent filing date, Penta OM now has a chance to fight back in opposition to the filing. Surely, of course, he would be able to win the case if he has proof that he did not create the name while under their employ. However, with the court of law, you just never know how this sort of heel move by a company will shake down until the gavel officially drops.

We will keep you updated on any changes.
