This past Thursday night on “Smackdown,” the Divas Revolution was in the spotlight with Charlotte going one-on-one with Naomi, which eventually turned into a tag team bout featuring Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.

Unfortunately, WWE officials were none too pleased with the way the match went, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio.

In fact, the bout was set to have a different finish entirely. Naomi wound up pinning Charlotte after a series of reversed pin attempts, but it appears that it wasn’t supposed to happen that way.

Naomi was visibly upset with Charlotte afterwards, yelling at Ric Flair’s daughter once the bell rang. Being angry isn’t something someone who emerges victorious normally does.

Meltzer believes Noami should have acted that the finish was designed to play out that way.

The two matches ran roughly 20 minutes (with entrances) with multiple commercial breaks. It was reportedly supposed to last longer, but WWE officials cut it because it was “such a disaster.”

Editor’s Note

It’s not always going to be perfect with the Divas Revolution. There are going to be duds along the way, just like there will be with the men. The ladies have been killing it up until this point. They deserve the benefit of the doubt.
