Don’t hold your breath if you’re expected “Mr. Monday Night” to make an appearance at WrestleMania 31 this year.

According to PWInsider.com, there have been no talks between Rob Van Dam and WWE for him to work the big event.

Wrestlezone.com first reported that RVD will be a surprise entrant in the “Royal Rumble” match on Jan. 25. If he is, it would likely be a one-off appearance.

With the pay-per-view taking place in Philadelphia (birthplace of ECW), the opportunity for a huge pop in front of a rowdy crowd is there for the taking.

His last run with the company took place during the summer of 2014, operating under a contract that allowed him to work limited dates and head off to do independent shows.

Editor’s Note

He’d be a nice addition to the undercard, but truth be told, him wrestling or not wrestling at WrestleMania won’t make or break the show.
