Reports in recent weeks have noted that there was a strong possibility for former ECW talent to be surprise entrants in the “Royal Rumble” match this year, although those plans were eventually nixed.

PWInsider.com is now reporting that we’ll likely only see one ECW name. Rob Van Dam is the likely candidate.

WWE wants to avoid having ECW stars drawing larger reactions than their superstars. With the show being in Philadelphia, there’s a very good chance that could happen.

WWE’s Kevin Dunn isn’t a fan of ECW and would like to avoid paying tribute to that company.
