When it comes to this month’s Royal Rumble, there are a couple main questions people have. One, obviously, is who will win the Royal Rumble match. The other, though, is which wrestler, or wrestlers, might end up making a surprise appearance in the match. It seems like every year, some wrestler shows up to surprise the WWE universe to great acclaim. To that point, the WWE put together a video of the top 10 surprise Royal Rumble Entrants over the years.

Now, despite the fact the first Royal Rumble happened in 1988, this list is decidedly skewed toward the present. That makes sense, though, considering how much more common the idea of a surprise Royal Rumble entrant has become. The process is usually quite similar. The buzzer goes off, the music hits, the crowd goes wild, the announcers go nuts, and excitement fills the air. However, just become it usually all happens in the same way doesn’t mean each individual surprise isn’t cool in its own right. You can get excited for both Edge and John Cena making surprise Rumble appearances.

One can only assume somebody will be joining the 10 wrestlers on this list as a surprise Rumble entrant come this year’s Rumble match. Let the speculation commence.
