According to a new report from MMAFighting, former WWE broadcaster Todd Grisham has joined the ranks of UFC.

Grisham, who had been at ESPN since 2011, will be seen both at the studio desk and as a play-by-play commentator. His official debut is scheduled for “UFC Fight Night: Penn vs. Rodriguez” on Jan. 15 in Phoenix, Arizona, where he will be working in studio.

Prior to his time at ESPN, Grisham spent seven years as an on-air personality for WWE. He served in several capacities, including as a backstage interviewer, as well as a color commentator for “Heat” and the WWE brand of “ECW.”

Grisham is very excited about his new role, as he sent out the following tweet earlier today:

It should be noted that Grisham was not brought in to replace Mike Goldberg; the longtime UFC play-by-play commentator whose final event was UFC 207 on Dec. 30.

Editor’s Note:

This is a wonderful thing! Anytime that a color commentator has the opportunity to do something on a major stage is a tremendous accomplishment, and we wish him well in everything that he does!
