WWE recently wrapped up a “Smackdown” taping for the Thursday, Jan. 22, showing of the program. The show is the last piece of WWE programming leading up to the 2015 “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view on Sunday, Jan. 25, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Wells Fargo Center. During “Smackdown,” two more WWE Superstars were added to the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

Recently “fired” stars Ryback, Erick Rowan, and Dolph Ziggler returned to WWE on the Jan. 22 “Smackdown.” Each star was given an opportunity to compete in the Royal Rumble, if he was to win his singles match that night. Two out of the three, Ryback and Dolph Ziggler, won their respective match, qualifying for the Rumble.

Ziggler bested Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett in a non-title match, while Ryback beat Rusev via count out. On the other hand, Erick Rowan lost to Luke Harper clean via pinfall.
