As noted last week, Daniel Bryan was advertised for the June 24 taping of “Smackdown” in Pittsburgh, Pa., during the broadcast of “Monday Night Raw” in the region. The show will be the last tapings of WWE programming prior to the “Money in the Bank” event, leading some to speculate that Bryan will be ready for the event.
However, Bryan is no longer being advertised for that event. During the broadcast of “Monday Night Raw” in the Pittsburgh area, another advertisement for the upcoming show was seen. However, this time, Daniel Bryan was not advertised for the dark match like he had been before. Instead, Bryan was replaced with Rob Van Dam in advertisements for an eight-man tag team match, pitting The Shield and “RVD” up against The Wyatt Family and Randy Orton. However, now that Seth Rollins has turned on The Shield, that won’t be the dark match either.
The sudden change in advertisements likely confirm our previous report that WWE is weary of Bryan’s status for “Money in the Bank.” Because of WWE not being sure of Bryan’s status for the pay-per-view, that is likely why Stephanie McMahon announced two possible matches for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at “Money in the Bank.” The announcement, coming on the June 2 showing of “Monday Night Raw,” noted that if Bryan could compete, he would face Kane in a stretcher match. Though, if Bryan were unable to compete, Bryan’s vacated title would be up in the air, in a match serving as the Money in the Bank match for the event.
Editor’s Note
It really does seem that WWE is unsure on Bryan’s status for “Money in the Bank.” Who knows, it may be a 50/50 situation at this time.
