According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan for SummerSlam has Daniel Bryan defeating John Cena to become the new WWE Champion. However, Randy Orton would then cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and take the title away from Bryan. Being the current word going around WWE, this could definitely change. This scenario would eventually lead to Randy Orton making a long-awaited heel turn.

There are also reports that WWE will announce the Randy Orton neck injury on RAW in order to keep him off television in the upcoming weeks leading to SummerSlam. The injury angle would make a possible Orton cash-in at SummerSlam even more of a surprise. Another sign that may point to Orton cashing in his briefcase at SummerSlam is that as of this week, there are no plans for a Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena rematch at the following pay-per-view, Night of Champions.

If these plans do come to fruition, Orton would win his seventh WWE Championship and become a ten-time World Champion. As for Bryan, he would capture his first WWE Championship, only to lose it immediately. Similarly, Bryan lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Sheamus in an eighteen second match at WrestleMania XXVIII.
