John Cena & AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens & Rusev: SmackDown LIVE, July 11, 2017

Longtime rivals John Cena and AJ Styles teamed up on this past Tuesday’s SmackDown, as they took on their respective opponents at Battleground, Kevin Owens and Rusev.

The segment began when AJ Styles, who won the United States Championship from Kevin Owens over the weekend, said that he was issuing an open challenge, which John Cena accepted. But, before the match could begin, Rusev and Kevin Owens interrupted, which led to the show’s main event.

Cena will be taking on Rusev in a flag match at the upcoming WWE Battleground pay-per-view.

Styles will defend the United States Championship against Kevin Owens at the next SmackDown exclusive pay-per-view, which takes place on July 23.
