When Randy Orton debuted on the WWE main roster in 2002, he entered a locker room that was significantly different from today’s. Also, now that he’s been on the roster for one and a half decades, he finds himself in a much different position than he was in when he was a rookie.

Back in 2002, the WWE locker room was full of veterans like The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, and Eddie Guerrero, all of which Orton could go to for advice. But today, even though he’s one of the more experienced guys on the WWE roster, the more inexperienced guys aren’t asking him, the veteran, for advice.

“I remember walking into our locker room and there’s a few guys I can’t even name, but you had a crew of guys that were very intimidating and commanded respect,” Orton told Denny Burkholder of CBS Sports. “You could also go to them and get advice, and you would get that advice.”

“Nowadays, a lot of the younger guys, I find myself, and I see other guys that have been around, having to go to them with suggestions on how to make their ‘product’ better. Whether it’s selling or facial expressions or just slowing down a little bit. But no, they’re not coming to us.”

“It’s almost like some of these guys that have been in the indies 15 years think they know everything. That’s probably the only negative difference that sticks out to me.”

What do you think? Should some of the indie stars that Orton is referring to go to the veterans for advice? Or do you think guys like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and AJ Styles are doing just fine in WWE?
