Last month’s Survivor Series show ended up being one of the best pay-per-views that WWE had done in quite some time, but that doesn’t mean that it didn’t have its fair share of controversy surrounding it.

The finish of the show’s main event — which saw Goldberg defeating Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes — has been heavily criticized, and some even thought that the finish damaged Lesnar so much that WWE won’t be able to rehab him.

In a recent interview with Newsday, WWE’s chief operating officer Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, explained why they can, in fact, rehab Lesnar, and why the people criticizing the Survivor Series finish are wrong.

“I guess we’ll see. Would you watch him again? I don’t think we’ve caused any damage. I’ve seen Brock Lesnar get beat in the UFC, too. It didn’t hurt his value when he [returned] to WWE. You make the best creative decisions [based on] where you want to get to.”

When Goldberg agreed to come back to WWE, presumably over the summer, he only planned on doing one match, which is why everyone thought that Lesnar would go over at Survivor Series. But, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the ex-WCW megastar agreed to do more than just one match during the night of the show.

Also according to the Observer, Goldberg will wrestle as many times as WWE wants him to, as long as they’re willing to pay him his going rate. So, we could see him pop up every now and then over the next couple of years.

It does look like WWE is building towards a Lesnar vs. Goldberg rematch at WrestleMania 33, so it’ll be interesting to see how they book that match. Will Lesnar win? Or will Goldberg squash him yet again?

The road to the third Goldberg vs. Lesnar match will begin at the Royal Rumble show, as both men will be in the annual 30-man match. So, we won’t have to wait until April 2 to see the two monsters clash again.
