Last week, we learned that Roman Reigns will make a big announcement regarding his plans for SummerSlam on tomorrow’s Raw show. The only thing we know is that his announcement will have nothing to do with John Cena, as Cena will likely challenge Jinder Mahal on the show. So, that leaves us with one of two options: Braun Strowman or Brock Lesnar.

On Saturday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter predicted that Reigns’ big announcement will involve him challenging the winner of the Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar match. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s getting a title shot at SummerSlam, as Meltzer expects Reigns to face Strowman in a number one contender’s match at Great Balls of Fire, where the winner will get a shot at the WWE Universal Championship in August.

“Roman Reigns is announcing something about SummerSlam,” said Meltzer. “I wouldn’t be surprised to see Strowman, because Strowman’s booked on the pay-per-view, and I would presume against Roman Reigns, I haven’t been told that directly, but it only makes sense. So, maybe Roman Reigns will say that he wants the winner of the Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe match, and then he goes and loses to Strowman, and Strowman gets Lesnar. Maybe that’s how they go with it.”
