It looks like WWE is trying to make this year’s SummerSlam the biggest one yet, as Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that the company could resurrect an Attitude Era rivalry soon, which will lead to a match at the aforementioned show.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer noted that, in an effort to make this year’s SummerSlam as big as possible, WWE has been contacting all the “part timers” about a return at the event. He also noted that one of the big matches on the show will be Triple H vs. Kurt Angle.

“There’s a lot of talk regarding a HHH vs. Angle program as the culmination of the mystery thing they are doing now, with the story being for SummerSlam,” said Meltzer in this week’s Observer. “We can’t confirm that since HHH’s programs are kept top secret, but when Angle was hired as babyface General Manager and we got word that he would definitely be wrestling if he could get cleared, HHH was clearly the most obvious opponent in a feud involving Stephanie coming off them having problems with running Raw after Stephanie returned. Several in WWE believe it but don’t know it factually, but the word is that the plans are to make SummerSlam as big as possible this year, which means bringing back part-timers. Others have said as much, that they expect it, there are rumblings but nothing as far as definitive word.”
