There’s been a lot of talk about Hulk Hogan potentially returning to WWE in recent weeks, but it doesn’t look like the Hulkster will be making his return to the company anytime soon.
Hogan recently said that he and WWE chairman Vince McMahon are in talks about his return to the company, however, as Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter pointed out in this week’s issue, there is one major issue that is preventing WWE from bringing him back.
“Lots of talk once again regarding a Hogan return,” said Meltzer is this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “As noted many times, it’s a question of when, and that will be determined by when the company is reasonably sure that bringing him back won’t cause a backlash. The problem is those quotes he made were racist and can’t be sugar-coated, and they can’t make the claim that they didn’t know about them. Of course the more times goes on, the more the fans want to see him. But if he’s hired as an ambassador representing the company and doing media, the company doesn’t want him out there promoting the network and then having to defend himself on those comments and the stories on WWE bring up those comments. Still, in the WWE Kids Magazine (not available in the U.S, but available in the U.K., Spain and the Middle East) there was a Hogan poster and Hogan has said that he and Vince are talking.”
