Finn Balor made his long-awaited return in the main event segment of Monday’s Raw, as he pinned the new United States Champion Kevin Owens in a tag team match. Of course, Chris Jericho was originally supposed to be in the match, but he was laid out backstage by Owens and Samoa Joe, and while WWE is still pushing the KO vs. Y2J rematch, which is scheduled to take place at Payback later this month, it doesn’t look like that match is going to happen.

On Monday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer predicted that the Owens vs. Jericho rematch won’t happen at the Payback show, and instead, Finn Balor will get a shot at the United States Champion.

“I doubt that [Jericho vs. Owens] is happening. It could happen, but I think it’s gonna end up being Finn Balor. Yeah, I think Finn Balor is wrestling Owens on that show.”
