Goldberg’s return to Raw this past Monday night setup a ton of future matches for the ex-WCW World Heavyweight Championship, as he went face to face with top stars such as Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, and Chris Jericho. But, most believe that, unless plans change, he won’t be in the ring with any one of those men until after WrestleMania 33, where he’ll presumably take on Brock Lesnar. But, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg will be back in the ring again before his big match with The Beast on April 2.
On Thursday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed that we won’t have to wait until WrestleMania 33 to see Goldberg’s next one on one match, as he’ll be wrestling at February’s Fastlane show.
“There’s some interesting things that are on the drawing board, that may or may not happen. Goldberg will be at Fastlane wrestling.”
As for who he’ll wrestle on the show, well, there are a few options. If he wins the Rumble, and if Kevin Owens retains the Universal Championship, then he could find himself in the ring with Owens’ best friend, Chris Jericho, at Fastlane. Of course, it’ll just be a squash match that’ll build towards his match with Y2J’s best friend at WrestleMania 33.
