Rich Brennan wasn’t everyone’s favorite announcer in WWE, but his work in NXT and his backstage interviews were far from being in the way or poor in any way.
Sometimes it’s tough to keep someone around who doesn’t do great work and unfortunately, that’s the decision the company had to make with Brennan.
According to Wrestlezone.com and several other sources, it’s been confirmed that Rich Brennan, real name Rich Bocchini, has been released by WWE today.
As of this writing, there isn’t anything specific that led to his release, but if it was for a more serious reason, we will be getting more details shortly.
Bocchini had worked for the Grande Valley Killer Bees Central Hockey League and the American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros before getting involved with pro wrestling for the Reality of Wrestling promotion in Houston.
Brennan made his debut in 2014 in NXT and was partnered between Corey Graves and Alex Riley. Before Mauro Ranallo was signed and SmackDown moved to the USA Network, Brennan was the lead announcer.
WWE is overflowing with a lot of announcers, and the company may not have seen a spot for Brennan, but he’s sure to land on his feet based on his experience.
