WWE is one of the most physical forms of work in the world. As fans, we pass it off as entertainment so much that we often forget how much pro wrestling can hurt.

It takes a year like 2015 to remember how the injuries can pile up. The injuries like those to Randy Orton, Cesaro, and Seth Rollins are part of the industry, and that has a greater effect on the personal lives of those men and women than it does on the fans that miss watching them perform.

According to PWInsider, WWE recently told their talents that as of February 21 of next year, the company will be conducting random check-ups with insurance providers regarding coverage of their talents.

The major changes for WWE’s medical policy are that they will be locking down on all talent to ensure that they’re covered. If a talent isn’t covered, they will likely be “benched” and put on the inactive list until they are covered.

On paper, it seems like a no-brainer that a professional athlete wouldn’t have medical insurance, but this adds to the debate about whether or not WWE should provide all their talents with insurance themselves. That would no doubt be expensive, but these recent changes are a step in that direction, or WWE just covering their bases.
