Last night’s ending of SmackDown saw James Ellsworth get the win by disqualification over AJ Styles, which means he holds two wins over AJ Styles. However, it’s just for fun and games because the end game here is the continuation of Ambrose vs. Styles.
As SmackDown ended with Ambrose getting the better of Styles and the ride continued for Ellsworth, the crowd in Denver got more for their dollar after the show went off the air.
According to a report from Wrestlinginc.com, the dark match saw Randy Orton versus Bray Wyatt as a continuation for what happened earlier in the night when he vanished. Orton ended up getting the win after an RKO to send the crowd home happy.
It’s also being reported that several sections of the arena were tarped off and the place wasn’t even close to being sold out. SmackDown took place only twenty-four hours after Raw on Monday, so that may have hurt the attendance for the second night of wrestling.
It was a questionable decision to have Raw and SmackDown hosted in the same arena on back to back nights like that. It’s just a lot of wrestling in the same city for two nights in a row, especially when it’s a normal week of WWE programming.
