Last night on Monday Night Raw, The Authority was nowhere to be found. Roughly twenty-four hours after Triple H lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns with his wife Stephanie McMahon by his side.
On Raw, The Game and Stephanie were no shows and Vince McMahon just gave the control of the show over to Shane O’Mac for the night. The questions going forward is where is The Authority and who will be controlling Raw for the foreseeable future?
According to a report from Wrestlezone.com, it seems that The Authority will be taking some time off of WWE television. Reddit user Falcon Arrow, who is a verified WWE Insider, noted that they’ll be taking a hiatus during a Reddit AMA earlier today.
Despite how illogical it is in the narrative of WWE programming, it seems that the power struggle between Shane and Vince will continue for the foreseeable future.
That’s going to create a very interesting dynamic when The Authority returns and Vince is going to have to choose between his children and the future of WWE.
On paper, this could lead to a winner takes all situation at Summerslam between Shane McMahon and Triple H. That would be a solid match and be a good way to transition the power over several months rather than have it be as abrupt as it would have been if Shane had won at Wrestlemania.
