Over the past couple of weeks, the rumors of Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement for a series of matches has picked up a lot of momentum. Nothing has been confirmed just yet, but HBK took a bump on Raw this week and the Saudis are said to be offering somewhere between $1 and 3 million for a match at ‘Crown Jewel,’ according to Rajah.
That’s enough money to turn anyone’s head for one match, especially if Michaels would be returning for just a tag team match with Triple H and the Brothers of Destruction. A lot of fans want to know more about The Showstopper’s potential return to the ring for another run and the logic beyond his wallet and how it will impact Michaels’ legacy.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite, the backlash against HBK for coming out of retirement is an issue. The finality of his original retirement in 2010 will be gone, but the belief is the WWE Universe won’t care and the match won’t negatively impact if it’s great. Fans keeping their expectations in check will go a long way to make that happen.
It’s a lot of money to turn down for a tag team match. The Heartbreak Kid has stated if he were to return for another match, he’d want it to be with Triple H. Shawn is being put into a position to receive a ton of money and he’s ultimately doing the company a favor. Potential matches against AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan are more appealing, but one match in Saudi Arabia shouldn’t be enough to tarnish the legacy of Shawn Michaels.
