Banks had been suffering from a nagging injury that she needed some time to recover from. It was rumored that injury would make her miss all of January. She missed most of this month but returned tonight to confront Charlotte.
Sasha Banks was technically a heel when she left, but the WWE Universe has been chanting “We Want Sasha” ever since she debuted last summer.
After entering the ring, Banks attacked Lynch and kicked her out of the ring. It appeared as if Banks’ heel run would continue by forming an alliance with Charlotte and potentially bringing back the “BFFs” from NXT.
However, the Divas Champion went to leave, and The Boss attacked her next to turn face and make a major statement by locking her in The Bank Statement. It’s crystal clear that WWE is planning for Banks vs. Charlotte in the very near future.
In NXT, Banks vs. Charlotte was an incredible feud that ended with Sasha taking the NXT Women’s Championship. On the main roster, Sasha Banks has not been pinned or submitted once in singles competition. Banks vs. Charlotte could be great over the next few months and create a huge moment for Wrestlemania 32.
