Nia Jax will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey this Sunday at Money in the Bank. While the WWE Universe continues to debate about Ronda’s title opportunity and if she should win the title, there’s another rumor that has been circling around about the Raw Women’s Championship Match being the main event of the PPV.
CageSideSeats reported the rumor a few days ago and the internet took to it. Logically, it makes sense if the plan is for Natalya to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and cash-in on Rousey after winning the championship. That would put a big spotlight on Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya for the biggest party of the summer in two months at Summerslam.

However, it’s now being reported by Sports Illustrated via Rajah that WWE officials are unlikely to book Jax vs. Rousey for the main event of the PPV. The expectation is WWE officials would want to promote and make a bigger deal of Rousey’s first main event for the company. As of this writing, WWE has given no indication that will be this Sunday.
There have been some conflicting reports about Rousey’s WWE contract this week. The WWE Universe might be critical of her push, but there’s no denying Ronda brings a very unique buzz to WWE programming and Money in the Bank shouldn’t be any different.
WWE officials have done a pretty good job pushing the Jax vs. Rousey feud on Raw over the past few weeks. There have been some mistakes and Ronda’s promo ability has been exposed a bit. However, she’s learning and WWE officials are still learning how to book her going forward. Whatever the plan may be for Sunday, it’s going to be can’t miss.
