Battle of the sports? Over the weekend, CM Punk took a pretty bad beating in his second UFC fight against Mike Jackson. In a three round decision victory over Punk, Jackson landed some hard shots to the face and had Punk looking like a bloody mess. However, Jackson’s performance wasn’t the most well received, with UFC President Dana White insulting Jackson after the fight and pretty much saying he was done. Now though, someone from an entirely different sport is coming after Jackson.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, Daniel Bryan recently participated in an Instagram question and answer sessions where Jackson was brought up. Bryan said that he could defeat Jackson on the ground “for sure…I think”. Bryan’s wife Brie said that Bryan could definitely beat him. Jackson actually responded on Twitter, basically saying Bryan would get a beating just like Punk. There is nothing to suggest that this will go any further than this exchange.

Bryan does some training of his own.

Opinion: After watching the fight and seeing Jackson’s rather pitiful efforts on the ground, I wouldn’t be shocked if someone with Bryan’s training in grappling and martial arts could give Jackson a rough time. Of course there’s a lot more to a mixed martial arts fight than just that and Bryan could get in a lot of trouble elsewhere, but at least it’s fun to think about. If nothing else, it gives Jackson a few more seconds of notoriety and that’s more than he had before this weekend.

Who would win in a fight between these two? What is next for Bryan after Money in the Bank? Let us know in the comments below.
