When Lio Rush was signed by WWE, wrestling fans expected great things for him. He was all set to make a major splash in NXT, but he got into some trouble after making a joke about Emma’s release from the company. As a result, he was taken off the road and worked his way back to NXT TV after several months at the WWE Performance Center.

However, the NXT roster is stacked and Ricochet’s signing has given WWE officials the idea to move Rush to 205 Live. The company has begun airing vignettes debuting a new character and “The Man of the Hour” is expected to receive a major push on the show.

According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lio Rush is going to be a heel on 205 Live. His character will be a “rich, playboy.” Babatunde, who has been working alongside Rush during NXT live events, won’t be moving to 205 Live with him.

WWE officials are probably hoping Lio Rush will be able to be a top heel for the brand that it’s been missing since both Neville and Enzo Amore left the company. With Cedric Alexander as the WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Rush should become a great heel for the brand. More than likely, he’ll be the one to take the Cruiserweight title from Cedric.

Here’s a preview of what Lio Rush’s character will be like on 205 Live:

Lio Rush is coming to the Cruiserweight division: WWE 205 Live, June 5, 2018

WWE officials are making the right call to move Lio Rush to 205 Live. The show could use a new star to shake things up and Alexander vs. Rush should be a great feud when the time comes. Hopefully, his debut can create a buzz and make 205 Live a show that the WWE Universe can’t miss every week.
