Rumor: Dean Ambrose Has Changed His Mind About ‘Crown Jewel’

Over the past few weeks, WWE has been forced to make some alterations to the card for ‘Crown Jewel’ because some notable names have asked not to go to Saudi Arabia. Daniel Bryan’s WWE Title match was moved to SmackDown Live, Bobby Lashley has replaced John Cena in the World Cup tournament, and Dean Ambrose wasn’t expected to appear.

According to a report from DirtySheets, The Lunatic Fringe may have changed his mind about the show after Renee Young was announced for the event. Unlike Bryan and Cena who didn’t want to go to Saudi Arabia for Jamal Khashoggi’s death, Ambrose’s reasoning was based on the country’s treatment of women and Renee’s absence from the show.

WrestlingRumors reported that Renee Young will be on commentary for the show. The company hasn’t revealed if she will be covering the Raw matches or the entire show, but Ambrose and Young have arrived in Saudi Arabia with the rest of the roster. Ambrose is not scheduled for a match, but he’s expected to cost Seth Rollins his World Cup match.

Of course, Dean Ambrose may be traveling with his wife to the country for support and he might not appear on the show at all. The renewed feud between himself and Rollins is one of WWE’s hottest angles so the company will no doubt be looking to promote it to the Saudi audience. The only question is if Ambrose is willing to make an appearance.

The politics of the situation will keep a great number of people from enjoying ‘Crown Jewel,’ but having Dean Ambrose on the show will only make it more entertaining, especially with him being so unpredictable.
