At The Last Minute. One More Title Match Announced For Crown Jewel.

Keep filling it up. We’re less than twenty four hours away from Crown Jewel and we only know eight matches. Since most of the show is going to be built around the World Cup Of Wrestling tournament, a lot of the matches have yet to be announced. With another marquee match taken off the show due to Daniel Bryan not being willing to go, something else needed to be added and that is now the case.

As announced today on WWE.com, United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will be defending his title against Rusev. The two have met before for Nakamura’s title, with Nakamura successfully defending the title against Rusev on the September 18 episode of SmackDown Live, albeit with some assistance from Aiden English. That was also Nakamura’s most recent televised title defense.

Here’s how things went the first time.

Opinion: Sure why not. Nakamura barely ever defends the thing and Rusev is one of the best options for a title shot. This also suggests to me that we’ll be seeing a draw in one of the tournament matches, which tends to be the case in these one night tournaments. The match itself should be fine, and there’s even the chance of having a title change to make the show a little more historic.
