Charlotte Talks About Being Overshadowed By Ric Flair

Let’s just get something out in the open, Charlotte is probably the best overall female performer in WWE right now. Being the top star in the Women’s division makes her one of the best wrestlers in the company and in the world. Period.

Her run from NXT to the main roster to becoming the longest reigning Divas/Women’s Champion in WWE history is an astonishing run. At “Hell in a Cell,” she going to make history along with Sasha Banks. No one should be surprised. It’s just genetics.

It’s not easy being the daughter of Ric Flair. It’s not just about the pressure to live up to his legacy, but it’s also a burden to have that weighing down on you.

So many sons and daughters of WWE legends come and go because they can’t get out of their father’s shadow. Just imagine being the daughter of Ric Flair. During an interview with Dailyrecord.co.uk, Charlotte discussed what it’s like wrestling in Flair’s shadow.

“I’d be in the gym all day, studying footage at night but struggling to show the people that I want it and I’m not just Ric Flair’s daughter.

I had to try hard overnight to not let him overshadow me, so I worked that much harder because I was not going to let that happen”
