Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev Confirmed For WWE "SummerSlam"

As a fan, this is an annoying issue. Rusev was a heel, but Lana was a face. On paper, dropping news like this means that in the context of the show, it doesn’t make sense. Especially, when their on-screen breakup involved Lana empowering women and Rusev trying to control her.

On WWE television, their dynamic made no sense for them to suddenly get engaged. That’s a strange combination of WWE pushing real life onto WWE television because they felt like it was too big to ignore. Now, it just exposes six months of development for these characters that is essentially just being washed away because WWE saw it as a way to hit the reset button on a poor feud that lasted far too long.
