7. Emma

Emma

Emma is the wild card choice because it’s a shame to see what has happened to Emma’s career ever since her transition to the main roster. Like many gimmicks in NXT, they only work for smart crowds that understand them.

A mainstream wrestling audience doesn’t appreciate the same qualities in their wrestlers they see on Raw or Smackdown, and Emma was a direct victim of that.

Even if she hadn’t gotten into trouble outside of the ring, Emma’s fun dancing gimmick eclipsed her in-ring ability to tell compelling stories. Emma most likely wouldn’t have been able to compete for the top spots on the main roster at a time when AJ Lee was dominant, Paige was getting her feet wet, and Total Divas reigned over WWE TV.

Since her reemergence on NXT, Emma has turned heel. She’s got a change of attitude, but she’s become the veteran on that show who puts over other talents. It’s a good role for her, but she can do better. If she was moved to the main roster again and became the Queen of the Ring; Emma will have finally arrived.
