Paige Divas title

It’s a BIG and bold statement to win a championship in your first match. Not only does that put the performer over immediately, but it brings about immediate change. It’s always a boost of momentum for a wrestler to win a championship so quickly and immediately pass over all other talent and become a marked man, or woman.

WWE has used this booking to get several performers over on their first night, or their first match to gain interest. It’s an interesting move, but it can’t happen all the time for obvious reasons. The only struggle that comes with such a quick title win is once that performer loses that championship the next day, month, or even year; it’s on that performer to stay relevant because they don’t have associations with anything else, but that title before. It’s another position for further changes in a character, but people always remember the first match when they won a title.
