Who hit Stone Cold Steve Austin with the car at Survivor Series 1999?

WWE had almost a year to answer that question, but they would end up with the wrong answer. There were unlimited possibilities and choices to pick the man that ran down Stone Cold Steve Austin. There were numerous suspects and many teases along the way. Eventually, Rikishi would admit to the deed and turn heel.

At the time, Rikishi was a good worker and had been an Intercontinental Champion. Rikishi taking the angle and turning heel seemed like a good way to build a new heel against Stone Cold.

No matter who WWE chose, it would have been a risky move. The problem was Austin vs. Rikishi just didn’t gain real momentum, and Rikishi’s heel turn failed to catapult him into the main event. It was an unfortunate missed opportunity.
