The Big Show believes Undertaker’s story isn’t done, and that The Streak shouldn’t have been ended.
In an interview with DigitalSpy ahead of a recent WWE Live event in London, Big Show expressed his adoration for The Phenom, saying Taker is an “amazing” and “iconic” character who has been loyal to WWE throughout the years.
“My personal take on it? I wish Taker would have never lost in New Orleans [to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX]. There was no reason for it.
“I get it. Anyone can lose, anything can happen in our business, it’s entertainment, nothing lasts forever, I understand all that. I think the fans are happy to see Undertaker once a year and make that entrance and go out there and keep going.”
Show goes on to note as long as Undertaker feels healthy he’ll continue to show up at ‘Mania as Taker is the “ultimate attraction.”
“That entrance is probably the greatest entrance ever,” continues Show. “I’ve been in the ring competing with him and that GONNNG would hit, and the music, and I’ve gotten chill bumps. I’ve looked at Mike Chioda , the referee, a few times and both of us are like ‘Ah we’ve got goosebumps!’
“So I’m still a fan too. Nothing lasts forever. Taker’s not going to last forever, I’m not going to last forever, Kane’s not going to last forever. It’s a changing of the guard but I think any time the fans get a chance to see Undertaker it’s very special and they should definitely seize the opportunity.”
When The Undertaker will make his in-ring return is currently up in the air. A recent report claimed Taker may be returning at next-year’s Royal Rumble, but after he was spotted on crutches following hip surgery – which has a recovery time of four weeks to six months – we won’t know if Taker will be wrestling-ready until the clock ticks down, the lights go out, and a chill bites the air at the Rumble.
