That’s one way to do it. An injury can be one of the most devastating things that can happen to a wrestler. They can come out of nowhere and derail anything that the wrestler has going in their career. That is horrible to see and unfortunately they happen far too often. A pretty bad one hit a member of the Monday Night Raw roster last year and now he is on the comeback trail, with a bit of help.

On the September 7, 2020 edition of Monday Night Raw, Ivar of the Viking Raiders injured his neck on a dive and has not wrestled again since. The injury required surgery and was going to put him out of action for a very long time. Ivar made it clear that he would be returning to the ring at some point and now he is working towards his goal, albeit with some surprising assistance.

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page has sent out a tweet showing an image of himself, DDP Yoga co-creator Aaron Craig and rehab specialist Payge McMahon training with Ivar as he continues his recovery. There is still no word on when Ivar will be back in the ring, though the expected recovery time after his injury was around one year, putting him at less than six months removed from the surgery.

He’s worth the wait. Check out what Ivar will do when he gets back:

Ivar vs. Angel Garza: Raw, Aug. 17, 2020

The Viking Raiders, Apollo Crews & Ricochet vs. The Hurt Business: Raw, September 7, 2020

Opinion: If nothing else, it’s cool to see Ivar on his feet and doing something physical. I know it is going to be a long time before he can get back in the ring, but this is a nice step towards the future. Hopefully he is back sooner rather than later, but at least his neck should be in much better condition than it was before. That isn’t the kind of thing you mess with and now he should be good to go.
