This isn’t going to go well. WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world and has been here for a very long time now. There is almost nothing in the wrestling world that can come close to it in various areas. They have conquered the wrestling world, with most of it competition coming from other forms of entertainment. However, one of their latest moves might have made then a bigger enemy.
One of the more controversial stores involving WWE this year has been their decisions involving WWE’s third party media platforms. This change has mainly focused around the Twitch streaming service, with several wrestlers not being happy with WWE deciding to take over the accounts. WWE Is arguing that since the wrestlers work for them, the wrestlers have no right to make money from their screaming. This has not gone well and it might get worse in a hurry.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the WWE locker room is unhappy with the company’s decision and several wrestlers have been in contact with former Democratic party Presidential candidate Andrew Yang. This comes after Yang has suggested that if he or someone he is close to is named Secretary of Labor, he will come after WWE over the policy. Vince McMahon is said to be betting on Donald Trump remaining as President, as he sees this to be a non-issue otherwise. Should Joe Biden win, Yang or someone else could come after McMahon.
McMahon has had some showdowns before. Check out what he has been through in the past:
Opinion: I’m not sure where this is going to lead but at the end of the day, I don’t see it ending well for WWE. The company is going to make a fortune no matter what they do and it does not make them look great to be cracking down on some out of character wrestlers playing video games and chatting with fans. If someone more powerful comes in on this too, it could be quite the can of worms to open up.
